Daily Application

1) Many times over the Lord gave David victory but David's pride still got in the way and so he had his fighting men counted to show how mighty he had become. We must be careful not to take the credit when it is God blessing us.

2) Though David did not build the temple he did much of the preparation. It is the same in the church in that some plant and some water. Whatever your part, do it for the glory of God.

3) Look at David's prayer in I Chronicles 29:10-13. How can you demonstrate in your life what David expresses in words?

4) Some of the wisdom we see from Solomon is that he maintained good relations with his father's allies and maintained not only peace in the land but built a good working/business relationship.

5) Think of the excitement when the ark was finally brought to the temple after years of dreaming, planning and building. Do not ever give up doing the Lord's work; there will be success.

6) Early in his life Solomon was faithful and humble, yet he allowed outside influences to change his character. We must be careful what we let into our lives.

7) Rehoboam did not learn from his father and the kingdom split as a result. The older must teach the younger and the younger must learn.
